Girl, Come Sit With Me

The idea for Girl, Come Sit With Me came to me during a walk with my sister. We were surrounded by nature, talking about life, healing, and the power of sharing our stories. She casually suggested I start a podcast, and something about it immediately spoke to my spirit. At that time, I was in an active stage of healing, reflecting on everything I had been through—grief, growth, and resilience. I knew I wanted to create a space where women could come together, feel seen, and know they weren’t alone in their journey.

Looking back, I realize this mission was shaped by my own life. My dad was in prison for almost 15 years—most of my childhood and into adulthood. Even though he wasn’t physically there, he still found a way to be present in my life. Through calls, letters, and visitations, we stayed close, and his love never wavered. At the same time, my mom, my Granny, and our village of family and friends stepped in to provide the support and guidance I needed. Their strength reminded me that even in the hardest times, I was never alone. That sense of community carried me through life’s biggest challenges, and now, I want to offer that same feeling to others.

Girl, Come Sit With Me is more than just a podcast—it’s a movement. It’s a space for real conversations about healing, personal growth, and self-discovery. But it doesn’t stop there. I also host group grief sessions for funeral homes, offer mentorship programs for teen girls, and lead confidence workshops for women who need a reminder of their own power.

My mission is simple: to remind you that no matter what you’re going through, you are never alone. So, come sit with me, and let’s heal, learn, and laugh together.
